I judged at Romsey Show, Hampshire, on 14th September. This event clashed with the Frome Show so entries at both events were hit due to close proximity of the venues. It was alovely one day show to visit and congratulations to Mortimers Charolais for winning overall.
On the following day the South West Limousin Club had their AGM and open day kindly hosted by Jack Neale and family, Launceston. The weather was awful but a strong turnout of Club members enjoyed themselves. At the AGM prizes for the Herd Competition were awarded to members from across the region.
I took a team of 5 to the Newbury Show for the first time this year. The competition was strong but we held our own and came away happy with Junior male and female champions (Killerton Hemingway and Hera).
Progressing with the potato harvest but it’s a bit of a struggle with markets. The product is hard to sell and prices are not good. We started drilling winter cereals at the end of the month – between showers of rain.
