I currently have a vacancy for a Stockperson to manage the pedigree Limousin and commercial beef cattle in Devon. This is a fulltime position, house available on farm and would like someone with experience / excellent references. For further information please contact me by telephone 07850 952983 or email Patrick@pwgreed.eclipse.co.uk
I started the month at the Brecon Bull sale and did very well – winning Junior and Senior Champion together with the overall show champion. The Limousin society have a full report on their website

Just started calving with some mixed results and keeping us on our toes. We have had the first calves by Confluence Leyton and the heifers calved very easily which was why he was purchased in the first place.
We had our annual assurance inspection for Red Tractor Beef and Cereals. There is always something that I miss and there are a few jobs to do to tick all the boxes.
We are now at the end of the month with heavy showers but the grass is beginning to grow. The silage pit still has quite a bit in so animals are staying in to use up, but fortunately we have enough straw left for bedding (although it breaks my heart to use it all).
We are about to put heifers to bull next month for calving next February and will put Confluence Leyton on the Emslies Horny daughters as he has proven to be such an easy calving sire. The remainder will be AI’d . I do have several smart pedigree heifers for sale if anyone is looking.
Lets hope the sun shines and a new Stockperson makes their way to the Killerton herd.
