Monthly Diary – March 2013

Spring is officially here but we will have to wait a while before we can get going with field work.  The recent cold dry spell has enabled us to ‘patch’ winter cereal fields which suffered during the extremely wet autumn/winter but it’s still too cold for the grass to start growing.

Calving is keeping us busy with the pedigree cows and heifers – commercial cows mainly calf between mid March-May.  At the moment we seem to be having a higher percentage of heifer calves.

We are preparing Limousin bulls and heifers for spring sales – Holsworthy on 10 April, Sedgemoor Market on 11 April and Brecon Pedigree Sale on Saturday, 11th May.

We currently have a 4-year Stock bull for sale – KILLERTON EAGLE – Sire Grahams Unbeatable, Dam Bapton Ultravox – Beef Value LM34.
