Monthly Diary – January 2015

Killerton Hardy Impres Init Impala Jan 2015

January has rushed by and sadly the shoot season has come to a close.  We have only had a few calves born this month – a few heifers are due in February but the main herd are due to calve March onwards.

The weather has been quite kind to the cows outwintering on stubble turnips – a bit wet but not too cold.  Most calves are housed this winter – just a few heifers staying outside with the cows.

It has been good to see the fuel prices fall this winter – anything that reduces our overheads has to be good for all of us and helps with the margins.

Some potato equipment sold – Anyone looking for planting gear before I get tempted to change my mind!!
