Monthly Diary – August 2018

Apologies to readers – I am late submitting this monthly blog by a few weeks.

August was a  busy month starting with Honiton Show where I won a couple of classes with young bulls.  Also TB Testing for the main herd which was clear thankfully and very good news.   I had the pleasure of judging Holsworthy  & Stratton Show on a very hot day – it’s a shame that the Devon local shows are not better supported but quite understandable with workloads, TB and to be honest very low prize money even if you do well.

Stubble turnips were put in after wheat and thankfully there was enough rain to make them germinate but we have been very short on water for over two months.  Buffer feeding has taken place with all cattle – it seems like winter has started even though the sun is out
