Time seems to have gone on at a bit of a pace. Now following a very dry summer and shortage of grass I am now experiencing a kind autumn at this present moment.
Good news – earlier this month we passed our herd TB Test. Also we had a wonderful S.W. Limousin Club AGM at Ladram Bay, Devon, followed by a farm visit to the beef finishing unit and AD Plant at Greendale EXETER.
I would like to thank Eric Norman for judging the SW Club Herd Competition. I was thrilled with the results –
First Prize Heifer born in 2024 Killerton Verity
Best Cow with Calf at foot Killerton Nicola with Killerton Acola
Second Prize Bull born in 2024 Killerton Victor
First Prize Large Herd entry
Reserve Champion – Overall – Well done to the Neale family for their success in the competition
I attended the Royal Cornwall Show in June and subsequently a couple of local one day shows.
Killerton Ubayana was Limousin Male Champion at Cornwall and also won the Senior breed pairs class
Killerton Victor won the Junior pairs class
At the local shows – Killerton Ubayana was Breed Champion at both the Mid Devon and Honiton Shows
Sad news – Crajan Salah is no longer with us due to injury This is a terrible shame
I am now getting ready to take bulls to the autumn limousin sales at Carlisle and Brecon. Lets hope it’s a good trade as farming seems to be altering considerably in the south west and the demand for bulls has become less
